Sharing skills on Grade II Listed property

//Sharing skills on Grade II Listed property

This recent project, on a Grade II Listed property, has really shown the skills of the Emerson Critchley Ltd team at their best. They began with removing the cement render, only to find that the frame needed extensive repairs. Luckily timber framework is a speciality for Emerson Critchley Ltd, so they were able to undertake the repairs. Here they are aiming to improve the thermal efficiency of this building, owing to this the customer will only be subject to 5% of VAT charges on top of costs. In order to do this they will be using cork board, and also The Anglia Lime Company’s Thermalime mix, thus ensuring efficiency whilst maintaining the aesthetic of the original building.

Working on historic buildings and period properties is something that is a real passion for specialist traditional building firm, Emmerson Critchley Ltd. In keeping with the property, this customer opted for daub for the infills, and the team took great pleasure in teaching the property owner how to mix and apply the daub. Sharing the knowledge of traditional building methods helps to ensure our heritage is preserved.
